Tea Kettle or Tea Pot

While you don’t need either one to make a great cup of tea, having both a tea kettle and a tea pot in your kitchen may lead to a more enjoyable tea drinking experience for the entire family.  With so many varieties of tea easily found in both tea bags and loose tea form, having both a kettle and a pot are essential for the serious tea lover.

A tea kettle is designed to heat water to the boiling point on your stove.  A tea pot is made to hold the tea leaves while water that has been boiled in the tea kettle is added to the pot.

The Tea Kettle

The tea kettle is where great tea preparation begins.  A kettle is designed to heat water to the boiling point on your stove.  There are dozens of styles, shapes, colors and brands but a really good tea kettle will be made specifically to withstand the heat of the stove while heating. It will also have a safety handle and lid that will keep the kettle covered while pouring.

When not in use, a tea kettle spends most of its time sitting on the back burner.  That’s why it’s important to select a kettle that blends well with your other kitchen appliances.  Selecting a stainless steel tea kettle will assure you a longer life span as there is less possibility of deterioration from rust or mineral deposits.

The Tea Pot

The tea pot is where the tea is brewed.  A tea pot is not designed for the stove top.  A tea pot is made to hold the tea leaves or tea bag while water that has been boiled in the tea kettle is added to the pot.  With the invention of the tea bag, preparation of a single cup of tea has become more common than brewing an entire pot of tea.  But if you are an avid tea drinker or entertaining a few tea-loving guests, the tea pot is the best tool for brewing great tea.

Tea pots are available in many different sizes, shapes and colors.  Many also include a removable infuser designed to hold loose tea for brewing without having to strain the tea when pouring.  Tea pots also make ice tea brewing a breeze!

Kettle and Pot Just The Beginning

With tea kettle and tea pot ready, you can now explore the amazing world of teas.  From wake-me-up brews and Tea Blends to sleepy time Chamomile Tea, the list seems to keep growing.
